Field
Trips
Extending the learning process with unique hands-on experiences
is an important part of the Children & Company curriculum. Children
in our 3- and 4-year-old classes participate in monthly field trips
that coordinate with themes emphasized in class. Some field trips
involve visits to our school by special guests from the community,
while others are explorations of interesting locations beyond the
school building.
Some recent field trips have included:
• A visit to a local dentist's office
• Hayrides, pumpkin picking and flower planting at local farms
• A Tour of the firehouse with fire safety instruction
• A trip to the Aviation Museum in College Park, MD
Some recent visits to our school have included:
• The "Mad Science" instructional program presenting
a lesson called "Adventures in Air"
• The National Aquarium's "Slither, Slide, Creep and
Crawl" demonstration with live animals.
• Yoga and karate instruction.
• Ceramics and drawing classes offered by art specialists.
